A lovely classic cottage garden fave! A very tall, narrow, sparsely-leafed stems on top of flattened heads of bright lavender-purple flowers!

They appear in late-summer so great planted alongside asters, dahlias and ornamental grasses. It’s great for adding height to a garden border. It’s a superb butterfly plant so plant lots in your garden to attract lots of visitors!

Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. It is a perennial so will return year after year. You will also notice in the right conditions that it will self sow throughout borders.
