Magnolia × 'Daybreak' – Daybreak Magnolia
Magnolia × 'Daybreak' is a deciduous tree renowned for its large, fragrant, rose-pink flowers that bloom in mid to late spring. This hybrid cultivar is a cross between Magnolia brooklynensis 'Woodsman' and Magnolia 'Tina Durio', developed by plant breeder Augie Kehr. It is known for its columnar growth habit, making it suitable for narrow spaces in the landscape. The blooms emerge with a slight green cast and open to reveal a suffusion of rose and pink, with the outer tepals darker than the inner ones.
