Ficus Binnendijkii Narrow Leaf Fig – Slender Evergreen Foliage for Contemporary Interiors

Create a refined tropical atmosphere in your home with the Ficus binnendijkii Narrow Leaf Fig, an elegant evergreen houseplant distinguished by its long, slender leaves and gracefully branching growth habit. Its glossy green foliage develops along fine, woody stems, producing a naturally flowing silhouette that adds movement and botanical texture to interior spaces. With its attractive upright structure and delicate-looking leaves, this tropical Ficus makes a distinctive decorative feature for living rooms, offices, conservatories and modern home environments.

Unlike broader-leaved indoor Ficus varieties, the Narrow Leaf Fig produces elongated, leathery foliage that creates a softer, more delicate appearance while maintaining a lush evergreen display. Its gently arching branches form a full, bushy canopy that complements contemporary furniture, minimalist décor and indoor plant arrangements. Preferring bright, filtered sunlight and consistently warm surroundings, this attractive houseplant responds well to regular care and occasional light pruning. Supplied in a 5L pot with a decorative stoneware container, it offers a stylish way to introduce year-round greenery into both traditional and modern interiors.

PLANT CARE GUIDE

Light: Position your Ficus binnendijkii in a bright indoor location with plenty of indirect natural sunlight. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense midday sunshine, particularly behind glass.

Watering: Water when the upper layer of compost begins to feel dry. Maintain moderate moisture levels while ensuring excess water drains away freely.

Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm, stable indoor environment away from cold draughts, direct radiator heat and sudden temperature changes.

Positioning: Select a suitable location and avoid moving the plant frequently. Sudden changes in light, temperature or watering conditions may cause leaf drop.

Compost: Use a well-draining houseplant compost that provides sufficient root aeration and prevents the roots from remaining in saturated conditions.

Humidity: Moderate household humidity is generally suitable, although avoiding excessively dry air can help maintain healthy foliage.

Feeding: Apply a diluted, balanced houseplant fertiliser occasionally during spring and summer to support healthy leaf and stem development.

Pruning: Lightly trim overextended or untidy branches when necessary to encourage a neat, bushy appearance and maintain the desired shape.

Leaf Maintenance: Gently clean the narrow leaves with a soft, damp cloth when required to remove dust and preserve their natural glossy appearance.

Pet Safety: Ficus plants contain irritating sap and can be harmful to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested. Keep this plant away from pets and young children.
