Malus ‘John Downie’ Tree – Ornamental Crab Apple
Malus ‘John Downie’ is one of the most widely grown crab apples, cherished for both ornamental and culinary qualities. In spring, it bursts into a mass of white blossom flushed with pink, attracting pollinators. By autumn, it produces abundant clusters of bright orange-red fruits that are highly decorative and excellent for making crab apple jelly, thanks to their high pectin content. Its upright, vigorous habit makes it ideal as a feature tree, while also providing a reliable food source for wildlife.
