Magnolia × soulangiana × lilliflora 'Genie' is a compact, deciduous hybrid tree renowned for its striking, deep burgundy-red, tulip-shaped flowers that bloom in early to mid-spring. This cultivar is a cross between Magnolia soulangiana and Magnolia lilliflora, developed in New Zealand by plant breeder Vance Hooper. It is celebrated for its rich flower color, compact size, and extended blooming period, making it ideal for smaller gardens and urban landscapes.
