Brighten your garden from late spring all the way to autumn with the exceptionally hardy Potentilla Goldfinger. Widely considered one of the best yellow-flowering shrubs available, 'Goldfinger' produces unusually large, bright buttercup-yellow flowers that stand out beautifully against its fine-textured, dark green foliage. With its neat, compact, and mounding habit, this deciduous shrub is perfect for low hedges, sunny borders, or as a reliable "filler" plant that provides consistent color for months on end.

Key Features:

  • Extra-Long Flowering Season: Blooms profusely from May until the first frosts, offering one of the longest displays in the garden.

  • Large Vibrant Blooms: Features larger-than-average, brilliant yellow flowers compared to other Potentilla varieties.

  • Incredibly Hardy: Extremely tough and resilient; thrives in poor soils, coastal conditions, and urban environments.

  • Compact & Tidy: Naturally grows into a dense, rounded mound, requiring very little maintenance to stay looking great.

  • Pollinator Friendly: The open, nectar-rich flowers are a favorite for bees and hoverflies throughout the summer.

Care Instructions:
Potentilla Goldfinger is a "plant and forget" favorite. It performs best in a position of full sun, which encourages the most prolific flowering, though it will tolerate very light shade. It is remarkably unfussy about soil type, provided it is well-drained. Once established, it is highly drought-tolerant. To keep the plant vigorous and prevent it from becoming "leggy," prune it lightly in early spring (March), removing about a third of the oldest stems down to the base to encourage fresh, floriferous new growth.
