Bring a shimmering glow to your garden with Choisya Aztec Gold. This award-winning evergreen shrub is a stunning golden version of the popular 'Aztec Pearl,' prized for its slender, finger-like foliage that emerges a bright lime-green and matures into a brilliant, sun-kissed yellow. In late spring, and often again in autumn, the plant is smothered in clusters of star-shaped white flowers that emit a heavy, delicious orange-blossom fragrance. With its neat, mounded habit and year-round golden color, it is an exceptional choice for adding brightness and scent to sunny borders or large patio containers.

Key Features:

  • Luminous Golden Foliage: Fine, elegant leaves provide a constant splash of bright yellow-gold throughout the year.

  • Sweet Orange Fragrance: Produces masses of white flowers with a heady, citrus-like scent that fills the garden air.

  • Double Interest Blooms: Typically enjoys a main flush of flowers in May with a secondary display in late summer or autumn.

  • Compact & Evergreen: Maintains a tidy, rounded shape and keeps its vibrant leaves all winter long.

  • Pollinator Favorite: Highly attractive to bees and butterflies, making it a wonderful addition to wildlife-friendly spaces.

Care Instructions:
Choisya Aztec Gold performs best in a position of full sun, which ensures the foliage maintains its brightest golden-yellow color. It is happy in any fertile, well-drained soil and is remarkably drought-tolerant once established. Choose a sheltered spot to protect the flowers from late spring frosts and the foliage from cold, drying winds. This shrub requires very little maintenance; simply prune back the flowered stems by about 25-30cm immediately after the first flush in spring to encourage a second display of flowers and to maintain a compact, bushy habit.
