Add a structural masterpiece to your garden that performs when everything else is dormant with Viburnum tinus ‘Gwenllian’. This award-winning evergreen shrub is a gardener’s favourite for its incredible winter interest. Starting in late autumn, clusters of dark pink buds appear, opening into delicate star-shaped white flowers that last through the spring. These are followed by striking, metallic-blue berries that provide a vital food source for birds. With its dense, bushy habit and leathery dark-green leaves, it is the perfect choice for a low-maintenance hedge or a reliable backdrop in a mixed border.

Key Features:

  • Spectacular Winter Colour: Features beautiful pink buds that open to fragrant white flowers from October through to April.

  • Stunning Metallic Berries: Produces eye-catching, deep blue berries in late spring, adding an extra layer of seasonal interest.

  • Year-Round Evergreen Structure: Provides a lush, dark green screen of foliage that stays vibrant through every season.

  • Compact & Bushy Habit: Grows in a neat, rounded shape, making it ideal for smaller gardens, large patio pots, or low hedging.

  • Highly Adaptable & Hardy: Thrives in almost any soil type and is remarkably resilient in both sun and deep shade.

Care & Usage Instructions:
Viburnum ‘Gwenllian’ is exceptionally easy to grow and very low-maintenance. It performs well in full sun, partial shade, or even full shade. It is not fussy about soil types, provided the ground is well-drained. While it is drought-tolerant once established, ensure new plants are watered regularly during their first growing season. To maintain a neat shape or to use as a hedge, prune the plant in late spring immediately after the flowering has finished. This shrub is slow-to-moderate in growth, meaning it holds its form well without frequent trimming.
