Day 10 Advent Calendar: Alyssum Easter Bonnet

Alyssum is a cute low growing variety which can grow like a carpet at the front of borders. This variety has a lovely mix of purples, violets and rose-y pinks. Alyssum is also sweet smelling so lovely direct sown at the front of borders near doors or pathways. It is a bushy annual which grows to only 15cm in height- one of the shortest varieties in the advent calendar. It flowers for a long time in summer and you can extend the flowering season of alyssum by successional sowing.

Alyssum will be one of the last flower seeds we sow direct into borders. It's really easy to grow and looks fabulous.
