Magnolia × soulangiana 'Jurmag1' – Black Tulip® Magnolia
Magnolia × soulangiana 'Jurmag1', commonly known as Black Tulip® Magnolia, is a deciduous tree renowned for its rich, deep burgundy-red, goblet-shaped flowers that bloom in early spring before the leaves emerge. This hybrid cultivar is a cross between Magnolia 'Vulcan' and Magnolia 'Iolanthe', developed in New Zealand by plant breeder Mark Jury. It is one of the darkest flowering magnolias available, with flowers measuring up to 15 cm (6 inches) across. The tree has a slender, multi-branched form, making it an elegant specimen for gardens and landscapes.
