April at The Rose Press Garden 🌸 (Dahlia Mania!) Sub Box

Dahlia Season Begins…

Our April subscription box has arrived and it’s safe to say - it’s a good one. This month, it’s all about dahlias, and we’ve packed in four beautiful varieties that we absolutely love: Sneezy, Who Dun It, Pink Petticoat and Lucky Number. Each one brings something a little different to the garden, from soft, delicate tones to bold, eye-catching blooms, making this collection perfect for creating a truly stunning summer display.

Sneezy is a charming, pollinator-friendly variety with simple white petals and golden centres — ideal for adding a light, natural feel to your borders. Pink Petticoat offers soft, ruffled pink blooms full of elegance and movement, while Who Dun It brings a sense of drama with its rich colouring and standout presence. And then there’s Lucky Number, a real showstopper that’s guaranteed to turn heads once in full bloom. Together, they create a beautifully balanced mix that will keep your garden looking vibrant all season long.

Alongside your dahlias, we’ve included a few extra goodies this month - because we couldn’t resist spoiling you a little! Whether you’re a seasoned grower or planting dahlias for the first time, April is the perfect moment to get them started and look ahead to months of colour and cut flowers.

Jobs to Do in the Garden This April 🌿

April is one of the most exciting (and busy!) months in the gardening calendar. Here are a few key jobs to keep everything on track:

  • Plant your dahlia tubers in pots or directly in the ground once the risk of frost begins to ease
  • Sow hardy annuals outdoors for a summer full of colour
  • Deadhead spring bulbs to keep displays tidy and encourage strong growth next year
  • Weed and feed borders to give your plants the best possible start
  • Stake and support early growth to prevent damage as plants begin to flourish

There’s something so rewarding about this time of year — longer days, warmer weather, and the garden really starting to come to life. We can’t wait to see how your dahlias grow 🌸✨
